Quality pays out!
An image processing system cannot pick out the
precise details of a specimen unless the specimen is
optimally illuminated.
Many tasks cannot be accomplished using standard
light sources such as halogen lighting or fluorescent
tube lights.
The LED lighting system developed by visicontrol®™ is available for both the infrared and the visible
range of light wavelengths. In conjunction with the
MVS systems, it permits a highly flexible, programmable
and optimally adjustable lighting situation to
be achieved.
Experience gained from specific customers has been
channeled into visiLum® to develop a lighting system
which is not susceptible to the influence of ambient
light to any significant extent and which provides
optimum illumination for both stationary and moving
specimens. Combined with an MVS system and a
minimum flash time of 15 µs (microsecond), it is
possible to achieve sharp images of even the fastest
processes.
Practically any possible lighting variant can be achieved
with 256 individual light-emitting diodes (LEDs)
connected up and arranged in a suitable way. In the
very unlikely event that a channel should fail, this
information is signaled to the MVS system for further
processing.
Safety is the top priority.
The MVS system also sends control signals in the other
direction to the visiLum® controller. These control
signals set the parameters for the brightness, flash duration
and much more.
A wide range of luminaires is
available.
Lighting variants are available for incident and transmitted
light, as are versions such as luminaires with telecentric
attachment lenses, lighting systems with different beam
angles or special models which are adapted to the dimensions
of the specimens.
The luminaires have a service life in excess of 100,000
hours, meaning they are practically maintenance-free.
The visiLum® lighting system is a very important module.
In conjunction with the MVS image processing systems
and the appropriate measuring and control software,
visiTeach®, it provides an extraordinarily powerful total
solution for image processing work.
If more than one visiLum® control unit is required for an
application, the control units and the associated MVS
system are connected together via a bus cable.
The parallel inputs and outputs of the MVS systems are
useful for other tasks and are not used for activating the
lighting units. |
