A protective camera housing has four functions:
- Protection of the camera and lens from dirt and mechanical
impact
- Mechanical interface for easy installation of the camera
component
- Easy adjustment of the camera-to-object distance keeping
the fixed position of the housing.
- Mechanical interface for the illumination (depending on
the illumination components used)
The protective camera housings on this page have no built-in
illumination. For camera housings with integrated illumination
please see the section illumination components.
